Community guidelines

Joournals is a community for learning, collaboration and sharing for the benefit of children, young people and the Montessori community. We share with care for human dignity, independence, diversity and the environment.

Share for learning and the common good

Share useful experiences, questions and educational work. Describe your work honestly, acknowledge others’ contributions and respect different perspectives. Keep contributions relevant to the activity or community.

Treat people with respect

Harassment, discrimination, humiliation and harmful content have no place here. Discuss ideas with curiosity and care. Do not use Joournals to target individuals or disclose another person’s private circumstances.

Protect children’s privacy

Share only what is necessary. Avoid student names, personal contact details, sensitive information and unnecessary identifying details. A face, voice or other detail may identify someone even when their name is absent.

Represent your school responsibly

Submit on behalf of the correct school or organisation, with authority to do so. Check the rights and permissions for every part of the contribution and its intended audience before submitting. Student accounts do not submit public contributions.

Respect review and sharing boundaries

Public contributions are reviewed by the school administrator and then Joournals. Content may be returned for changes, declined or temporarily hidden while a concern is reviewed. Private council resources and meeting details must stay within their authorised audience unless a deliberate sharing decision has been made.

Raise concerns

Contact hello@joournals.com about content or community concerns, or privacy@joournals.com about privacy. Avoid including confidential student information in ordinary email.
